Stop Short

You know that you've picked the right music cd for your parent when you know barely a quarter of the soundtrack titles, and what comes through the speakers aren't drum pads and electric guitars but only nice, peaceful, classical, orchestral music.

Glenn and I were in panic mode, especially when we had just about an hour to pick a suitable gift. Listened to soundtracks from close to 20 classical cds and all I remembered telling him was "I'm gonna get bored to tears". Sieved out every sample copy we could lay our hands on and finally settled for one with instrumental chamber music. Actually, it sounded not bad.

Due to the spate of unpleasant events that occurred over the weekends, I set off for work today in a totally moody state. Was just thinking about the wretched lives, wretched people and relationships, the pain and grief, the hope that seems like anything else but near...then suddenly my thoughts were stopped short by what came through the car speakers.

The music cd. In the end, the efforts did pay off.

Praise God from whom all blessings flow. It is not the first time he had turned every bad sitatuation for the better. It's true.
